Pick the right local model for your Mac.
VoiceGem ships with a range of local models. Larger models are more accurate but use more memory and CPU.
Quick guidance
- Apple Silicon (M1–M4): a medium or large model runs comfortably.
- Intel Macs: start with a small or base model.
- Tight on memory: use the smallest model and enable streaming.
You can switch models anytime in Settings → AI Models. Larger models download once and run offline thereafter.
